Overview of the objectives of the 3M Thank you Dental Alliance Program

This program is demonstrating a key 3M value: “Customer at our Core”: We see your uniqueness. We see the challenges, especially in Health Care, you rise to and overcome. We see that you give your best everyday: for your patients; for your team; for your friends and family and for us, as a society. We see that you make people´s lives better. We want to say thank you and invite you to become part of the 3M Thank you Dental Alliance. Membership is subject to the program’s Terms and Conditions set forth below:

No Purchase Obligation

3M is committed to compliant interactions with Health Care Professionals and Organizations. We are members of Med Tech Europe and follow their Ethical Code on Business Practice. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions requires, or shall be construed to require, use, order, purchase or recommend the use, ordering or purchase of any Company products or services. You warrant that nothing in these Terms and Conditions will affect your judgment as to the products and services that are best for the patients or otherwise affect your decisions regarding the use, ordering or purchase of healthcare products or services. Who we are

References to "we", "our" "us" or “3M” in this T&Cs mean 3M Company and its subsidiaries (3M “group companies”).

Section 1. Purpose of T&Cs.

  1. These terms and conditions will explain who is eligible to join the program, and how the program works.
  2. Set out how you can be supported in your daily work simply by joining our Dental Alliance community, a community that provides healthcare by using 3M dental products.
  3. Explain how you can earn points and how to use your points to claim exclusive buy-one-get-one free 3M promotions.
  4. To take part in the 3M Thank you program, all terms and conditions must be accepted by the user on behalf of the account holder, including any subsequent updates.
  5. By submitting your registration in the 3M Thank you program you confirm you have read and unconditionally agreed to these terms.

3M reserves the right to amend or discontinue this program at any time and offers no guarantee regarding lead time or shipment delivery within a certain time window

Section 2. Who can join the 3M Thank you Dental Alliance Program?

One user per Dental Practice with a maximum of seventy chairs within the same group, can join the 3M Thank you Dental Alliance Program. Dental Service Organizations, or other entities that have specific pricing agreements with 3M are not eligible to join this program. If you are not sure if your practice is eligible, please send an email using the contact us link.

Section 3. Benefits of the program

As a member of the 3M Thank You Dental Alliance program you will have access to exclusive buy-one-get-one free 3M promotions, free education, early awareness of 3M training programs and bonus points for referring other Dental Practitioners who successfully register in the program. From the above only the exclusive buy-one-get-one free 3M promotions require the accrual of points in the program. There is no obligation to purchase for access to education offers.

1. How to register as a member:

  • Only one username can be registered and sign-in on behalf of a Dental Practice.
  • Accounts must be registered and verified with 3M ‘s internal Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to be able to redeem points for exclusive promotions.
  • 3M will verify all 3M Thank you accounts in order to facilitate the automated redemption of promotional items and ensure correct shipping.
  • The verification process normally takes up to 1 working week, but may take longer in some cases. During this time you can log into your profile, access education, contact us and upload receipts and accumulate points, but not redeem your points for exclusive promotions.

2. How to access education:

You are not required to upload invoices or participate in any part of the promotional program in order to access online educational offers.

On-demand learning that supports your team and your business - After registering the Dental Practice account, you can access education offers hosted in Udemy®, by clicking on the education icon in your profile

  • Udemy® are an independent company who are collaborating with 3M to provide education content as part of the 3M Thank you program.
  • Your browser will open the Udemy® platform with a pre-selected host of courses and categories aimed at the Dental Industry for you to choose from.
  • Courses include business management, on-demand dental webinars, and courses for your and your team’s well-being.
  • Educational offers are made available through third party supplier, Udemy®, and the availability of courses is subject to their management. For this reason, 3M is not responsible for any inaccuracy in the description of education offers.

Early-Bird invitation to 3M Education Events – When you become a 3M Thank you Dental Alliance member, you will receive invitations before everybody else, to ensure your seat is reserved. Registration for live events with a limited capacity may be subject to further selection criteria and local business requirements.

3. How to collect points:

Get Bonus points when you register with a 3M code

If you registered with a ‘3M sign up bonus code’, provided by our sales representatives, 200 points will automatically be added to your account. 3M Codes can only be redeemed once and are not transferable.

Get Bonus points when you refer a friend

Do you know other Health Care Providers that should be recognized and get a share of our unique extras? Then this is your chance to grant it to them. For every new Dental account registration, eligible under the terms of this program, your account will automatically be credited with 50 extra points! Currently only Dental Health Care Professionals qualify under the friend’s scheme.

Get Points by uploading 3M product invoices

Points will be awarded for each eligible 3M transaction submitted within your account profile on this platform, after successful member registration and account validation.

Points will be awarded even if your account is still being verified. See previous point 1; How to register as a member:.

For every currency spent on eligible purchases, you will gain one point. E.g., If you spent £80,45, you will be given 80 points. If you spent £80,55, you will be given 81 points.

Points have a nominal value of 0.0001 pence and can only be redeemed for 3M exclusive promotions. 

Under no circumstances can points be backdated, sold, transferred (even if using the same username) or converted into any other consideration.  

4. How to upload invoices:

There are 2 mechanisms for uploading invoices to your account:

  • Upload an image or other electronic copy of the invoice within your member profile account.
  • Submit an image or other electronic copy of the invoice by E-Mail.

In the case of E-Mail submissions, multiple E-Mail addresses can be added to the account profile section. This allows multiple users within the same Dental Practice to submit invoices by E-Mail from any device and any E-Mail account if these are recorded in the account profile. Note these E-Mails are for invoice submission purposes only and cannot be used to log into the account.

Please note that non-3M product purchases shall not be read, transcribed or stored by 3M or SNIPP. Therefore, it is not required to conceal non-3M product purchases and the entire invoice including other purchases can be uploaded.

  • How to redeem points:
  • 106 Exclusive 3M buy-one-get-one free promotions are available based on points accrual. Points can only be collected by uploading proof of 3M dental product purchases, as explained in point 3 above; ‘How to collect points:
  • You can find the number of points that will be needed to claim the “buy one, get one free” in the heart icon next to the product. 3M may update and adjust those promotions at any time without notice.
  • Once a promotion claim has been placed products cannot be returned, exchanged nor converted into cash or any other consideration. Points spent will not be refunded.
  • 3M products offered in the promotions will only be delivered to addresses within our service area zones, always within the country, and will not be delivered to a PO Box address. Note that if someone other than the account holder claims a promotion on behalf of the account holder, then these terms and conditions will apply as if you had claimed the promotion and points will be deducted accordingly.

Section 4. Personal information

3M respects your right to privacy. This section summarizes what personal information we may collect about you, how we may use this information, and other important topics relating to your privacy and data protection. By signing up to the 3M Thank you program, you acknowledge that we will collect, hold, use, and disclose information about you in connection with your account, points and benefits for the purposes explained herein below. Information will include certain personal information and transaction information relating to points earned and requests for obtaining exclusive promotions.

1. What type of information do we collect?

  • 3M may collect your name, birth date, job title/role, contact telephone number, email address, postal address, country in which you are located and opinions and educational interests (if you choose to provide these).
  • If you choose to collect and redeem points for promotions, 3M will collect your 3M product purchasing history.
  • 3M may collect your 3M product transactions only. Other manufacturer product transactions will not be made visible to 3M on an individual or user level. Non-3M product purchases may be made available to 3M on an aggregate level, e.g., total amount of non-3M products purchased in the UK.
  • We may also obtain sales data from distributors of our products.

Data controller: 3M Company of St. Paul – MN (USA) (contact details at www.3m.com) along with the relevant 3M affiliate for your Country (details at www.3m.com/3M/en_US/select-location).

Data processor: SNIPP Interactive Ltd. of Cork (IE), based on a data processing agreement. SNIPP are an independent company collaborating with 3M for this program.

3. Why your personal information is processed?

We will use your personal information for the purpose of managing your participation in our recognition program, to provide and market customized benefits and services to you.

  • How long we store your personal information

We use your personal data to administer our communications with you and your requests regarding how you do/do not want us to contact you. We also match personal data you provide and your requests with other information about you, e.g., the products you express an interest in, education offers you express an interest in and your reaction to our promotions and our interactions with you online and in person. Collecting your personal information in this way helps us to understand your preferences so that we can send you more relevant communications and promotions.

Based on your participation to it, we may also use your personal information to let you know about offers and news relating to our 3M Thank you program electronically—e.g., email, SMS, and social media.

4. How long we store your personal information

Your personal information will be stored for a maximum of 3 months if you or 3M cease your account.

5. Who your personal data may be disclosed to?

Your personal information will be transferred to, stored and/or processed by 3M and third-party partners managing the 3M Thank you program on our behalf, in the UK and European Economic Area (EEA), under strict obligations of confidentiality and security. In case your personal information is transferred outside the UK or EEA, toward a country offering a different level of data security (e.g., the USA), it will be done under proper contractual safeguards, such as an enforceable version of the European Union Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. How to exercise your data subject’s rights

You have the right to lodge a complaint before the Lead Supervisory Authority for 3M: Autorité de Protection des Données (www.dataprotectionauthority.be). Section 5. Points explained

2. Displaying Points

Your point balance will be displayed within your 3M Thank you account. This balance will include:

  • Points awarded for eligible transactions debited to your 3M Thank you account.
  • Number of promotions available for redemption based on your balance

3. Transactions eligible for Earning Points.

There may be some transactions which can be made that will not earn points for your account. These may include:

  • Unauthorized purchases for which you are not liable
  • Purchases made of promotional items noted not to be part of the points campaign.
  • Refunded purchases.

4. Things That Can Reduce Your Balance.

Your points balance will be reduced when:

  • Promotions are claimed against the account
  • Your points expire, see point 5 below; Expiration of Point
  • A refund or reimbursement for a transaction previously made is debited to your user account. This may happen for a number of reasons, such as returning or cancelling unwanted goods.
  • Points were incorrectly allocated to your points balance.
  • Your participation in this program will be immediately discontinued if we reasonably suspect you have behaved fraudulently.

When points decrease, this will be displayed by your updated points value in your account. The points value will be calculated using the rate at which the points were originally allocated. :

5. Expiration of Points.

Points in your account must be claimed within 12 months from the date of the transaction earning those points. Points that remain unused after 12 months will expire and be forfeited.

Closure of your account will result in immediate expiration of your points. These points will be immediately forfeited and cannot be reactivated upon creating a new account.

If the 3M Thank you program is terminated by us, we will notify all program users how long they have to use remaining points before final expiration. • No other users are eligible to use your points: if for any reason we are notified that your account has been compromised and given to another person, we reserve the right to discontinue your participation and instantly revoke points. Should this happen in error please contact us immediately.

6. Keeping Track of Points.

To keep track of points you have a range of options:

  • Access your 3M Thank you account by signing in, whereby your current points balance will be clearly displayed on the front page.
  • You will be notified 3 months in advance when the next expiration of points will occur if unused.
  • Looking at your points statement will also show a history of earned, redeemed, or disqualied points
  • Should you wish, you can sign up for email updates on your points balance through the preferences section of our application.

Section 6. Third Party Responsibility

3M will make every reasonable effort to ensure the description of education and promotional offers in connection with this program are correct. However, we are necessarily reliant on information provided by third party providers being accurate, and for this reason we are not responsible for any inaccuracy in the description of education offers. Promotional offers will be charged and shipped by your selected 3M authorized dealer during check-out. 3M cannot guarantee that the selected product will be in stock by selected third parties selected and delays in shipment may occur. You may contact 3M or the third-party supplier relating to delayed shipments. If you receive incorrect products from that selected in the promotion, contact us immediately and we will assist with rectifying the situation.

Section 7. Resolving Disputes

Should you have a complaint in relation to the 3M Thank you program, please contact our help team directly through the program.

Section 8. How to Communicate with Us

As noted in previous sections, you can contact us directly through your account. If we need to contact you, we will send emails to the address you provided for your account. In case we need to update you urgently, our help team may phone the number attached to your account. You are responsible for notifying us for any changes to your contact details.

Section 9. Program Termination

We may discontinue this program at any time without prior notice. 3M reserves the right to cancel any points accumulated. Where possible, and if not related to a suspected fraudulent activity, we will give you at least 90 days’ notice of the termination and cancellation of your 3M Thank you account (if applicable). Circumstances where prior notice may not be possible include where we are affected by events outside our control (for example, one of our key Rewards partners terminates their arrangement with us or can no longer perform their obligations). 3M reserves the right to cancel accounts with points without prior notice in the case of no purchase activity within a period of 6 months. Any points accumulated will be cancelled.

If we give you notice after termination, Points will only continue to be credited to your Points Balance in relation to transactions that occurred prior to the date of termination.

Any notice we give will include the general reasons for termination (if possible), and the time period available to you to use points in your points balance to claim promotions. We will define the time limit remaining before final expiration of all points.

Examples of when we may terminate include, but are not limited to:

  • where you are in default under these terms and conditions or the terms and conditions of another facility that the customer has with us;
  • where we believe on reasonable grounds that the continued operation of the account may cause loss to the Customer or us.

These examples are for guidance only and do not limit our ability to cancel the account

Section 10. Changes to Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to change and update our terms and conditions when required. Whilst these changes may come without prior notice, we will notify users of any major updates to ensure full transparency.
